Sex Crimes and the Vatican
Sex Crimes and the Vatican and the new pope. Pope Francis is the new pope in town. The newly elected Pope is the first Pope chosen outside of Europe, ever, the first Jesuit pope, and the first first pope to choose the name Francis. To celebrate, we are posting a documentary made by Colm O’Gordan about his experience being sexually abused by priests. What to expect from the new pope? At Documentarystorm, we view the coronation with little optimism.
We already have learned the following:
1) He is a humble man (but, not humble enough to refuse to be Pope!)
2) His ideologies are in line with his predecessors. Those looking for dramatic reform within the church are in for disappointment. Pope Francis’ record is one of conservatism. He opposes homosexual relationships, contraception, women priests, etc.
3) He is not without controversy. The new Pope has suspected ties to the corrupt Argentina government and is suspected of aiding in the torture of his countrymen. His brother is also under investigation.
